Domain registration

A domain is the address of your site on the web. Our domain, for example, is “domenca.com”. A domain consists of keywords (in our case the word “domenca”) and an extension (“com”). You can register domains with any keywords (e.g. company-domenca.com, companydomenca.com), and more than 2,000 extensions are available (e.g. domenca.shop, domenca.top, domenca.eu).

Domain registration means buying a new domain. You can only register, i.e. buy, domains that are not yet taken. The easiest way to find available domains is with our search. Enter the domain you want and you will see whether it is still available or someone has beaten you to it and registered it first.

The minimum registration period for any domain is 1 year. Most domains can also be registered for 5 years or more. When the period expires, you need to renew the domain if you want to keep it. Before the domain expires, you will receive notifications and a renewal offer.

Choosing a domain is important, as it is often a potential customer's first contact with your company. When registering a domain, also ask yourself whether it matters to your visitors that you register several domains with different extensions (.SI, .COM, .EU, …).

With us you can choose from more than 2,000 domain extensions. In Slovenia the most common choice is .SI domain, and .COM domains are also common, so it makes sense to register both. This protects your brand and prevents competitors from registering the same domain with another extension and confusing your customers.

If you are targeting European markets, .COM and .EU domains are the most relevant for you.

There is also a whole range of more exotic domains. If you are not sure which domain or extension to register, contact us and we will be happy to advise you! 

First check whether domains with other extensions are available. Example: if the domain domenca.com is already taken, also check domenca.si, domenca.eu, domenca.agency, …

The decision is yours. A domain with a hyphen is easier to read, but we always recommend registering both domains.

Domain expiry protection is a service that guarantees that a domain with active protection will be renewed before it expires. We automatically renew all domains with active expiry protection for 1 year. We then send you an invoice for the annual domain renewal at the regular price, together with the renewal of expiry protection for the following year. Expiry protection can be ordered when registering or renewing a domain.

Some domain data, such as who owns a domain, the owner's e-mail address and similar private data, is publicly available in a database called WHOIS. Through the WHOIS database, any internet user can see several of your personal details.
